Many people read Genesis 12:1 wrong because they do not understand what Thee, Thy, Thou, Ye & You really means.
Thee, Thy & Thou are SINGULAR.
Ye & You are PLURAL.
Here is how Genesis 12:1 should be read:
Genesis 12:1 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee (Abram) out of thy (Abram) country, and from thy (Abram) kindred, and from thy (Abram) father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee (Abram): 2 and I will make of thee (Abram) a great nation, and I will bless thee (Abram), and make thy (Abram) name great; and thou (Abram) shalt be a blessing: 3 and I will bless them that bless thee (Abram), and curse him that curseth thee (Abram): and in thee (Abram) shall all families of the earth be blessed.
No where does Thee, Thy or Thou MEAN Israel or the Jews.
Here is the wrong way to read Genesis 12:1 -
Genesis 12:1 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee (Abram) out of thy (Abram) country, and from thy kindred, and from thy (Abram) father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee (Abram): 2 and I will make of thee (Abram) a great nation, and I will bless thee (Abram), and make thy (Abram) name great; and thou (Abram) shalt be a blessing: 3 and I will bless them that bless thee (Israel), and curse him that curseth thee (Israel): and in thee (Israel) shall all families of the earth be blessed.
In addition to this Abraham was not a Jew. Abraham was a Hebrew. Read Matthew 1:1-17 and you will find there were 14 generations of Hebrews after Abraham. The first Jews came about when Israel split during Rehaboam's reign. Ten tribes moved to the north and became Samaritans. The tribe of JU-dah stayed in JU-dea and became known as JEWS.
Here is the correct way to read Genesis 22:15 -
Genesis 22:15 And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, 16 and said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou (Abraham) hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy (Abraham) son, thine (Abraham) only son: 17 that in blessing I will bless thee (Abraham), and in multiplying I will multiply thy (Abraham) seed (NOT Seeds) as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy (Abraham) seed (NOT Seeds) shall possess the gate of his enemies; 18 and in thy (Abraham) seed (NOT Seeds) shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou (Abraham) hast obeyed my voice.
Galatians 3:16 Now to Abraham and his SEED were the promises made. He saith not, And to SEEDS, as of many; but as of one, And to thy SEED, which is Christ.
The nations of the earth were blessed in the seed of Abraham... JESUS.
