The Holydays are a Shadow of Things to Come

Updated: Dec 14, 2022

God gave Moses seven feasts to observe in Leviticus 23. These holydays are a shadow of things to come. Colossians 2:16-17.

Matthew 13:39 ... the harvest (feasts) is the end of the world...

Jesus fulfilled the first 4 feasts. This is how I think Jesus will fulfill the last 3 feasts. This post will be controversial for some.

Jesus will fulfill the last 3 feasts in the 7th month of the Jewish calendar on the exact day they are observed and in the exact time frame as well. This should be easy to understand. Most will find it hard to believe and accept.

Having heard preaching by filthe lucre loving preachers over the last 40+ years I am going to challenge a few lies that have permeated our culture and has been accepted for a very long time.

These are the lies we believe: 1) The Rapture could happen at ANY time, 2) the Rapture will take place in a moment, in the twinkling of the eye, 3) it will happen so fast that hardly anybody will see it, 4) it might be a secret Rapture, 5) nobody will ever know when the Rapture will take place until it actually happens and 6) you can never EVER have a good idea of when it might take place because "no man knoweth the day or the hour".

I am not going to set a date for the Second Coming. However, there is coming a time when that date will be obvious and you can and will know when to expect it… if you want to. Read this and decide for yourself.

Jesus fulfilled the 4 Spring feasts on the exact day they were observed while he was on Earth. These feasts were a picture of things to come.

The Feast of the Passover was a picture of Jesus the Passover Lamb. 1 Corinthians 5:7

The Feast of Unleavened Bread was a picture of Jesus the Sinless Bread of Life. John 6:33, 35, 48, 51

The Feast of Firstfruits was a picture of Jesus the Firstfruits of the dead. 1 Corinthians 15:20

The Feast of Weeks (aka Pentecost) was a picture of Jesus giving us the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. Acts 2:1-4 * update

Jesus will fulfill the last 3 harvest feasts when he returns on the exact day(s) they will be observed.

The Feast of Trumpets is a picture of the angel of God proclaiming the gospel one last time.

The Day of Atonement is a picture of Jesus returning with a shout and the trump of God.

The Feast of Tabernacles is a picture of Jesus taking the convocation to heaven.

The Feast of Trumpets aka Rosh Hashanah will be fulfilled during the first 10 days of the 7th month of the Jewish calendar. Trumpets are used to sound an alarm in the Bible. The feast will be fulfilled by the angel preaching the everlasting gospel throughout the earth sounding the alarm and warning people to repent and be saved one last time. Matthew 24:14, Revelation 14:6.

I think it will take the angel about 10 days to preach the everlasting gospel throughout the earth. This event will not take place in a moment nor in the twinkling of an eye.

This ‘alarm’ will trigger Revelation 2:10 ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. The devil will hurry to kill as many believers as he can because he knows his time is short. These 10 days will be the most intense period of tribulation ever. Believers will suffer intense persecution unto death. Matthew 24:22 and Mark 13:20 says these days will be shortened otherwise no believer would be left alive.

The Day of Atonement aka Yom Kippur will be fulfilled over the next 5 days in the 7th month of the Jewish calendar. A trumpet is blown at the beginning of this feast. This will be the Second Coming of Christ. 1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.

Every eye, literally, every person who has ever lived since the beginning of time, shall see him. Even those in Jesus’ day who died and went to hell will see him. Matthew 24:30, Matthew 26:64, Mark 13:26, Mark 14:62, Revelation 1:7. This is not a secret Rapture. This event will not take place in a moment nor in the twinkling of an eye. It will take hours if not days to gather hundreds of thousands of believers.

The dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds. This event will not take place in a moment nor in the twinkling of an eye. 1 Corinthians 15:51-52. WE shall be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye.

The trumpet of jubile is blown during this feast once every 50 years. The jubile is when all of Christ's possessions will be returned unto Him. Ephesians 1:14, Leviticus 25:9-10.

The Feast of Tabernacles aka the Feast of Booths will be fulfilled in the 7th month of the Jewish calendar after the Day of Atonement when Jesus takes the holy convocation (those who were gathered at the Second Coming) up to heaven. There will be rejoicing and nobody will be doing any servile work as they wait for God to pour out his wrath. This Feast is normally observed with an offering made by fire. Hebrews 10:14. Jesus is the offering once made for ever.

Additional thoughts:

The Second Coming will take place during the harvest season on the 11th - 15th day(s) of the 7th month of the Jewish calendar i.e. this means Jesus will return in the Gregorian calendar month of September or October depending on the year... and what ever days the 11th - 15th converts to in the Gregorian calendar.

These are the dates for the beginning of the Day of Atonement feast for the rest of this decade: 9/25/2023, 10/12/2024, 10/2/2025, 9/21/2026, 10/11/2027, 9/30/2028, 9/19/2029, 10/7/2030. Use Pick Ur Rapture and see which ones meet the bible’s parameters.

Nothing before 2027 is possible because the temple has not been built yet. The antichrist needs a temple so 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 he can sitteth in the temple and sheweth himself to be God.

If you could determine when the next jubile year is, then you would probably know the exact year and day the Second Coming will take place. The jubile has been conveniently forgotten for hundreds of years. I don’t think anybody has a clue when the next jubile is.

Hebrews 9:23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these...

27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

28 so Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

There are patterns of things in heaven shown to us in the bible. Men are appointed to die. Jesus was appointed to die. Judgment will take place after men die. Judgment will take place after Jesus died.

The feasts were an image, a pattern, of things to come. Jesus fulfilled the first 4 feasts on the exact same day they were observed. Jesus will return and fulfill the last 3 feasts on the exact same day they WILL BE observed.

This is how I think Jesus will fulfill the last 3 remaining harvest feasts by using the pattern set before us in the bible. That means...

The Jews will 'celebrate' the Second Coming of Jesus on the Day of Atonement ... one day soon. Oh the irony...

P.S. Since we know there are feasts and events and dates that have to be fulfilled this should put a nail in the coffin of the Pre-Trib rapture position. But, it won't.

P.P.S. Angels do not get people saved, that is true. But, if you are alive and remain won't you be pointing at the angel and telling people "THIS IS IT! REPENT AND BELIEVE!"?

P.P.S. I can summarize this post like this:

The Second Coming will occur on the 11th - 15th converted to Gregorian.

It will be in the month of September or October. It depends on the year and we don't know that... yet.

It cannot take place before 2027 because there is no Temple... at the very least.

Did I set a date? No. Given the length of the event nobody will be able to tell you the actual day or time YOU will be gathered up. If you live in say North America you could be gathered up on the "11th" whereas people down in Australia may be gathered up on the "15th". Who knows?

P.P.S A friend asked... so I have to come clean. I watched Pastor Anderson's sermon on the feasts where he told how Jesus fulfilled the first 4 feasts. Then he went off on a tangent with the last 3 feasts. I'm like wait...that's not right. I took what he said. The first harvest feast has trumpet(S) plural. The next feast has one trumpet. Then I went looking. I have created a list of events that have to be fulfilled before the Second Coming. The angel with the everlasting gospel to preach throughout the world is a significant event to me. It doesn't have trumpets but it is the last and final warning to be preached throughout the earth. I started there and then that's how I came to draw my conclusions.

* Update. I wasn't happy with the justification saying Jesus fulfilled Pentecost when he gave the Holy Spirit. It's correct but, I want to expand on that thought just a little.

I love a good 'as it is written' verse... where somebody says something that refers back to something said in the Old Testament. In Acts 2 Peter says...

Acts 2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judæa, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: 15 for these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. 16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; 17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: 18 and on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy...

Peter was saying... Guys... this speaking in tongues and prophesying is something Joel predicted a long time ago. Here is where Joel prophesied this...

Joel 2: 28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: 29 and also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

So, Jesus fulfilled Pentecost on the day of Pentecost when he poured out the Holy Spirit upon the people and they began to speak in tongues and to prophesy just as Joel prophesied.
