One Day is With The Lord as a Thousand Years

I was watching some Youtube videos where various rabbis are looking for the coming Moshiach or Mashiach, ie the Messiah. The rabbis were cluless creating some good bedtime stories claiming the information comes from the Torah or the scriptures but, not giving specific chapters and verses.

There was one rabbi, however, who said something in the middle of all of his gobbledygook that caught my attention. If I take what he said and apply it biblically it may be very interesting.

What if the 6 days of creation corresponds to the age of the earth in thousands of years & the 7th day of rest corresponds to the 'last' thousand years, ie the Millennium?

Remember 2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Could this be God's way of saying the earth will exist for 6,000 years, or 6 'days', and THEN the 7th day corresponds to the 'last' 1,000 years, ie the Millennial reign?

I don't know if this is true or not but, I have never understood WHY there is going to be a Millennial reign in the first place. If this is true then the Millennium finally makes sense to me. Just sayin'. It's just conjecture on my part.
